Junior Software Developer - #1654993
dentsu
Date: 1 day ago
City: London
Contract type: Full time
Work schedule: Full day

The purpose of this role is to develop required software features, achieving timely delivery in compliance with the performance and quality standards of the company.
Job Description:
Dentsu is a leading data-driven, technology-enabled performance marketing agency that specialises in the delivery of personalised customer experiences across platforms and devices. We call it ‘people-based’ marketing, and with over 25 years’ experience, we are proud to be recognised as a global leader. Dentsu is one of the world’s top 5 media companies with 60,000+ employees and a global presence.
The Role
The Junior Software Developer role is placed within the Digital Product team, part of the Data & Technology department. We are responsible for building and maintaining Dentsu’s internal software products, used by employees working with clients like Facebook, Google, Amazon and other Fortune 1000 companies.
The core product that you would be working on runs digital marketing campaigns for some of the largest advertisers globally, with a few thousand users across locations including London, New York, Dubai, Japan, Los Angeles, Sweden, Mexico, and wider expansion continuously happening throughout Europe and South America
To achieve our goals, we’re looking for a developer with strong experience to help build and maintain our industry-leading marketing technology suite.
We are a fast-growing team within the agency, so in addition to writing top-notch code, you'll be expected to contribute to the wider development lifecycle, including decisions on architecture, processes and team best practice.
As part of our full-stack team, your role will cover both frontend and backend, but you don't need to be experienced across the whole stack when you start. We do, however, expect that you have some knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (whether you’ve gained this experience from work, or simply researching at home), and that you have strong skills in either React or backend development (any OO language is fine). Experience with a cloud platform would also be a bonus.
You’ll get a chance to use the following technologies:
Our diverse and inclusive culture enables our employees to bring their whole selves to work and be proud of doing so. For us, this is the foundation for great innovation which, in turn, generates better outcomes for our people, partners and communities. This is why we encourage applications from people with disabilities, and of all ages, nationalities, backgrounds and cultures.
We are happy to discuss flexible and agile approaches to working for all our roles – we can’t promise we will be able to offer you everything you want or need but we do promise to discuss it with you openly and honestly. If you have any reasonable adjustment needs arising from a disability or medical condition to fully participate in the recruitment process, please discuss this with our recruitment teams.

- You'll have a hybrid working schedule, with some flexibility on start/end hours, and choosing yourself whether to work from home or our modern office on Triton St, London
- You’ll actively contribute to the codebase, writing clean, logical and structured code. We use React for frontend development, and both C# and TypeScript on the backend.
- You’ll actively participate in the team’s development lifecycle. This includes contributing to the roadmap and giving input on architecture and tooling decisions.
- You’ll be involved in wider department & business operations. We believe developers shouldn't be working in a bubble - we’re a collaborative team that works closely with our product leads.
- We’re a friendly bunch! You’ll be working with a mix of junior, mid and senior developers, a perfect environment to sharpen your skills. We also host regular team socials, company-wide workshops, and allocate time for self-development every Friday.
