Become a trusted advisor to the leadership team of our Electrolyzer business, within Accelera by Cummins. In this key role you will be part of our in-house legal team based in London, supporting our UK and European growth alongside advising on global initiatives. Working at the forefront of low-carbon technologies you will take on a diverse role covering a broad range of transactions (including EPC contracts), alongside broader commercial and compliance work.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Providing comprehensive legal support for the electrolyzer business globally.
- Advising on a range of legal responsibilities, focusing on Europe but also collaborating with in-house counsel in other regions.
- Negotiating commercial contracts (including tenders, feed studies and EPC contracts) with customers.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to mid- to high-level management, partnering with internal stakeholders to identify improvements and provide practical legal advice.
- Assisting in developing legal strategies that align with business objectives and goals of the organization.
- Identifying, mitigating, and managing legal risks, ensuring compliance and protecting the company's interests.
- Providing support and leadership in legal department projects.
This is a hybrid role, currently requiring a minimum of two days at our Paddington office, along with occasional travel to Europe and Northern America.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Experience advising on engineering contracts and/or infrastructure / energy projects, either in-house or in private practice.
- A qualified lawyer with a minimum of a 2:1 degree or equivalent (registered with relevant Law Society/legal regulatory body).
- Experience in reviewing and negotiating complex project agreements, including EPC contracts.
- The ability to consider commercial, strategic and innovation perspectives to make effective legal decisions and provide guidance.
- Excellent relationships building skills with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders across various disciplines and cultures.
- An enjoyment of working across a range of legal issues, managing risks, with strong personal and professional integrity and business ethics.
- Strong English language essential and German or Spanish language skills and/or experience of working across multiple European jurisdictions would also be an advantage.
