Job Purpose
To lead digital and video content projects for the London Assembly with the aim of enhancing visibility and engagement across the Assembly’s website and social media channels.
Reporting Line
– Primary Line Manager: Visual Services Manager
– Secondary Line Manager: Head of Assembly Communications
Principal Accountabilities
– Lead the production of video and photography content for the Assembly’s digital platforms.
– Act as the key point of contact for all video-related activity, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
– Film Assembly Committee site visits and interviews, including occasional travel across London.
– Capture photography for both formal and informal use, including social media.
– Confidently use mobile phones to create quick-turnaround content for digital channels.
– Edit short, impactful videos using editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro).
– Upload content to internal systems and external platforms such as YouTube and Twitter/X.
– Clip and distribute webcast highlights to amplify Assembly meetings online.
– Conduct health and safety assessments during on-site filming and update risk registers accordingly.
– Work closely with the Communications Officer – Digital, to integrate animations and infographics into content.
– Stay informed on current affairs relevant to the Assembly’s work.
Equipment and Resources
– Professional video and photography equipment will be provided by the Assembly.
– The postholder is expected to also have access to their own professional-grade kit and be willing to use it where appropriate.

Technical Skills / Experience / Qualifications
– Strong experience operating camera, lighting, and sound equipment.
– Skilled in using editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent.
– Capable photographer using both traditional cameras and mobile devices.
– Proficient in uploading and managing multimedia content on platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter/X.
– Knowledge of media file management and asset storage systems.
– Understanding of political environments and sensitivity when covering complex or controversial issues.
– Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive practices.
