About The Role We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled motion designer to join our visual storytelling team. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a passion for visual journalism, have strong communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and a meticulous attention to detail. This role will report to the Art Director of Digital. Key Responsibilities * Creating industry-leading motion graphics to present our award winning journalism to the highest possible standard * Present your work to major stakeholders such as editors and heads of departments * Working to fast-paced deadlines on digital initiatives * A strong visual voice on the newsroom floor * Collaborating with graphic designers, product designers, video editors, editors and other key stakeholders across the newsroom * Using motion to introduce moments of delight and intrigue to our digital audiences across experiences Key Skills * Have an active set of animation skills and be fiercely creative with it * Proficient in Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere Pro * An understanding of Figma, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is desirable * Be interested in current affairs and have a passion for telling stories * Ability to manage your time across several workstreams * Be energetic, have an appetite for experimentation and a good sense of fun * This role is in office 5 days a week across a 7 day rota.
