Job RoleThey are looking for an experienced Transport Manager to oversee and manage their transport operations at London site. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and compliant delivery of seafood products to our customers, managing the transport team, maintaining vehicle standards, and improving operational performance
Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and oversee the daily transport operations to ensure timely deliveries
- Ensure compliance with all transport regulations, including vehicle maintenance, driver hours, and health & safety standards
- Monitor and optimize delivery routes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness
- Conduct regular team briefings and performance reviews
- Supervise and support the team of drivers and transport staff
- Ensure adequate staffing levels and manage driver routes
- Maintain fleet compliance, services, MOTs etc.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections and audits, ensuring all vehicles are roadworthy
- Ensure driver training and safety standards are met
- Podfather checks to make sure drivers compliment
- Control transport costs, including fuel, maintenance via Fleetwave
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time deliveries, fuel efficiency, and customer satisfaction
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational performance
- Control drivers hours and weekly working time directive
- Following up on insurance claims and closing off
- Breathalyser records – once a well all drivers (random days)
- Fuel cards management and reconciliation
- Keys for customers- all keys to be marked up and record kept on spreadsheet
- Work closely with internal teams, including sales and operations to ensure smooth operations
- Handle any transport-related customer issues or delays professionally and efficiently allocate new customers to correct routes
- booking in customer deliveries via different channels (Westfield, Eataly etc.)
Personal Profile
- Knowledge of UK transport laws and compliance regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to operational challenges.
- Strong IT skills
