Our client is a small, dynamic company who specialise in tailored bunkering solutions for the Maritime industry.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or transition into the maritime industry. Were seeking a proactive individual with a strong work ethic, keen attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring relevant experience in financial reporting and analysis, along with a solid accounting skill setideally gained within the Commodity Trading or Energy sector.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor key financial reports to support clear and accurate analysis
  • Manage ledger accounts and maintain up-to-date accounts payable/receivable
  • Process invoice data and perform regular reconciliations
  • Review and process incoming invoices and payments, ensuring compliance and supporting automation
  • Maintain strong communication with suppliers and clients
  • Review contracts to identify and assess potential creditor risks
  • Collaborate with settlements and financial control teams to post journals accurately and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and ageing analysis; work with the wider business to reconcile intercompany balances at month-end
  • Reconcile cleared paper trades and post relevant journals for cash settlements
  • Produce financial reports and analysis for monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
  • Support internal and external audits by providing timely and accurate information
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and support various projects as needed
  • Contribute to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes and controls
  • Assist with position reporting and production/review of Profit and Loss (PnL)
  • Prepare monthly regulatory reports
  • Support additional tasks as required

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role
  • Strong organisational skills with a results-oriented and efficient working style
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Detail-oriented, accurate, and able to work at a fast pace
  • A team player who is proactive and adaptable
  • Comfortable working in a small, close-knit team
  • Ability to communicate across multiple departments (Front Office, Back Office, Finance, Senior Management)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
