Job Description

In this role, the Fabric Engineer is responsible for providing comprehensive building services maintenance to client properties.This includes leveraging mechanical and electrical engineering expertise to address technical issues such as fault-finding, problem analysis, and the timely resolution of maintenance needs.The role also encompasses parts procurement, repairs, and routine maintenance, with a proactive approach to identifying and preventing potential issues.With a strong emphasis on providing a world-class building services maintenance experience, this role ensures all systems at the client site are maintained in optimal working condition, embodying our client's commitment to excellence in service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and repair mechanical and/or electrical failures
  • Log all repair time
  • Keep engineering tools, such as manuals, safety protocols, parts, and work tools, up to date and available
  • Communicate with clients and customers about work time, fault repairs, and downtime, working to minimise customer wait time and maximise solution efficiency
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Adhere closely to repair schedules
  • Perform routine maintenance and preventative repairs on existing systems
  • Possess contract knowledge and ensure all work is done to proper risk management procedure standards
  • Conduct testing on existing systems and on new parts and materials, and communicate with customers about project-specific testing and timelines
  • Manage and liaise with third-party contractors
  • Maintain a good working relationship with clients, third-party contractors

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Significant experience in providing building services maintenance to include fault finding, maintenance, installation and inspection/testing
  • Significant previous experience in providing reactive and PPM building services maintenance
  • Experience of working within FM or building services
  • Experience of working under strict Health & Safety procedures including risk assessments and method statements
  • Working knowledge of Authorised Person Responsibilities AP(LV)
