Description

Engineering Services is looking for a detail-oriented, analytical, innovative, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Process Improvement Specialist who can provide Capital Governance and project management support directly contributing to growing Amazon’s customer fulfillment network. You will be responsible for budget controls over Business Units across various miles in Amazon, including support reporting on approved budgets, forecasted funding, and communication on future funding needs. You will have ownership and responsibility over budget health of multi-billion dollar Amazon fulfillment Operations expansions globally. You will manage and support one or multiple of Amazon’s business units: Global Customer Fulfillment, Amazon Logistics and Amazon Transportation Services across different regions globally. Key attributes of a successful individual for this role include excellent written and verbal communication, ability to learn and be curious, and strong financial acumen. Candidate must be highly motivated and effective within distributed teams.

The role will be based in LHR16 with 10% of time traveling either domestically or to other EMEA countries

Key job responsibilities

  • Ownership and responsibility over budget health of multi-billion dollar Amazon fulfillment Operations expansions globally.
  • Coordinate budget status and accuracy both within Capital Planning teams and budget execution teams.
  • Manage recurring budget status meetings with various partners/functions, as well as monthly/quarterly budget status updates to VP level leadership.
  • Partner and contribute across all functions within Customer Fulfillment and will actively manage multiple stakeholders including Finance, Startup, Real Estate, and Construction.
  • Ensure the accuracy of budget data while providing reporting on the overall financial health of all business units.
  • Build processes and tools to enable scalable and flexible operations.
  • Retrieve and analyze data using Excel, Tableau, SQL or other data management systems.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance or related field
  • Experience in complex project management roles, with proven ability to deliver workable solutions and on-time projects
  • Experience in leading large-scale projects and programs utilizing data to drive decision-making and process improvement.
  • Experience managing, influencing, and negotiating project requirements with business partners and cross functional teams.
  • Advanced Proficiency in Excel and Tableau
  • Proficiency using SQL or other data analysis tools/languages.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to peers and senior leadership teams.
  • Comfortable with ambiguities, conflicting priorities and multi-cultural and matrix environment.
  • Master’s degree/MBA or other advanced degree in Engineering, Finance, or related field
  • Finance acumen - analysis, capital portfolio management, etc.
  • Amazon Operations Engineering, Startup, and/or Launch experience
  • PMP Certification
  • French, German, Polish, Portuguese, Arabic, Turkish, Afrikaans and Zulu are considered preferred qualifications.
