Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced professional to step into the role of MAST Early Help Team Manager at Tower Hamlets. This temporary post has become available as the current postholder is embarking on a secondment as the Early Help Locality Coordinator, offering the chance for you to make a significant impact in the team while ensuring continuity of high-quality support to families.

About the Role:

As the MAST Early Help Team Manager, you will be at the forefront of leading and supporting the Early Help services within Tower Hamlets, working with a range of partners to prevent the escalation of cases to statutory interventions. This is an essential leadership role to ensure the smooth running of services, supporting families with the right help at the right time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic and Operational Leadership: Lead the MAST Early Help team, ensuring the effective delivery of services.
  • Casework Oversight: Manage risk, allocate cases efficiently, and ensure timely and effective progression.
  • Partnership Coordination: Work closely with MAST partners to ensure families receive comprehensive support.
  • Performance Management: Drive the achievement of service targets and outcomes.
  • Staff Development: Supervise, support, and develop your team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Record Keeping & Monitoring: Maintain high-quality records and monitor emerging trends in family needs to refine service delivery.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within Early Help or similar services.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection frameworks.
  • Exceptional casework management and risk assessment skills.
  • A passion for staff development and performance management.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external partners.
  • Experience in delivering services that meet targets and outcomes, ensuring high standards.
