The Company

This company is a highly regarded and respected privatised specialist sub-contractor within the RC Frames, Groundworks and Demolition sector as well as large infrastructure that have been established for over 50years. They have a current turnover of over £200m.

The Role

  • Procurement of subcontractors. Duties will include, collating all the necessary drawings and specifications and issuing to a select number of subcontractors. Analysing the quotations upon receipt and presenting the results.
  • General administrative duties will be required to “set up” a project”. This will entail a full range of site files set out in accordance with the company standards.
  • Each project will have its own set of Tender & Construction issue drawings, the Assistant Surveyor will be responsible for keeping an up to date collection of both, monitoring drawing issues through the project.
  • Monthly valuations will be prepared by the relevant QS for each project and the Assistant will have an integral role in their preparation. This will include re-measuring items and assisting with the valuation of variations.
  • Regular site visits will be required; during these visits the role will include collating all the returns & allocation sheets for subsequent costing.
  • Attend meetings and develop good working relationships with clients, contractors and our own site staff including site management teams.

    • You must have commercial degree
    • Ideally you will have at least 1 years’ experience as an Assistant QS in the Civils.
    • Be driven and motivated to progress and develop your career.
