Operations Clerk - #1690786

Our client, a freight forwarder is looking for a Operations Clerk to join their office in Woodford Green.

Role - Operational (80%): Primary focus working with the Export Team. - Commercial (20%): Developing client relationships, procuring prices, quoting rates/follow up.

Operational ResponsibilitiesExport/Recycling Desk:- Process Management: Gain comprehensive knowledge of processes and procedures through Cargowise, handling tasks from job initiation to billing and file closure.

- Operational Tasks: Booking entries, placing bookings with shipping lines and transport companies, confirming bookings with customers, export customs clearance, VGM submission, export documentation and Invoicing.- Client Management/Ownership: Develop and maintain a deep understanding of clients' business profiles, with a focus on recycled cargo moving from the UK to the Indian sub-continent and Far East markets.- P&L: Awareness of the P&L on job files and responsibility to manage that all costs, including additional charges such a container Demurrage, wasted haulage and any other associated charges are logged/agreed and whether the same are passed on/invoiced to the client.

Forwarding Desk- Process Management: Gain comprehensive knowledge of processes and procedures through Cargowise, handling tasks from job initiation to billing and file closure.- Operational Tasks: Booking entries, placing bookings with shipping lines and transport companies, confirming bookings with customers, export customs clearance, VGM submission, export documentation and Invoicing.

Commercial Responsibilities- Rate Management: Assisting the Commercial Director in developing/maintaining a Carrier/Supplier rate excel sheet, similarly a Client Sales rate sheet. - Business Development: Help in maintaining existing client relationships and play a role in identifying & securing new business opportunities.Cargowise • System Optimization: Explore and suggest potential advantages of Cargowise for both the company and clients, including features like tracking, status reports, and booking capabilities.This overview should provide a clear understanding of the role, outlining the balance between commercial and operational responsibilities and emphasizing the involvement with Cargowise.
