Your role

The Senior Health and Safety Manager works with the team to drive a positive Health & Safety culture within the company and does everything to prevent the occurrence of incidents. By working with the team to support the implementation of Health & Safety Rules & Regulations for internal- and external stakeholders which are known and applied he ensures the highest level of safety. This role will provide Sub-region H&S support for our Design Engineering & Construction (DE&C) projects across EMEA and manage a team of H&S Managers.

What You’ll Do

• Help to deploy and manage the Health and Safety management framework within the local country organization following the corporate Health and Safety Strategic framework and guidelines.
• Ensure Health and Safety support is provided for the identification, analysis, assessment and management of the Health and Safety risks that are specifically applicable to operations and the interfaces with construction.
• Deputise for EMEA H&S Director as required
• Help drive performance improvement across our General Contractor supply chain
• Coach, challenge and support Digital Realty team members in health and safety leadership
• Help implement our global H&S strategy
• Provide support for Investigations and accidents or incidents to discover root causes
• Drive improvements through focused risk-based audits
• Carry out High Risk Activity analysis across our projects
• Assist in the implementation of the safe systems of work
• Ensure emergency response arrangements and procedures are maintained and in place
  
  

What You’ll Need

• 7-10 years’ experience in health and safety leadership role
• Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines across EMEA
• Ability in producing reports
• Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment
• Chartered membership of IOSH (institute of occupational safety and health
• Line management experience of managing H&S Managers
• Excellent planning skills: headlined long term planning and detailed short-term planning (in daily operations).
• High personal standards: always looking for higher standards with eye for quality
• Excellent communications skills (oral and written): open, direct, and honest. To the point and able to cope with different layers in the organisation and with customers.
• Accuracy and eye for detail: you can create the blueprint and get it executed according to plan, firmly managed.
• Previous multi-site experience is ideal.
