a Bit About Flock

At Flock we do insurance very differently.

Our real-time, data-driven approach means we’re able to price connected vehicle insurance and assess risk better than ever before, whilst giving fleet owners the insights they need to improve safety. We don’t just pay claims; we help our customers prevent them. We now insure hundreds of fleets in the UK, including the likes of JLR and Amazon, as well as fleets that work for DPD, Uber and Bolt.

We've now raised over £50M and our goal is to become the leading insurance company for connected and autonomous vehicles, and we're building a world-class team to help us get there.

THE ROLE

You’ll have meaningful opportunities to make an impact, be responsible for deliverables, and contribute to positive change for the team and our customers. Your team builds a core product for Flock and while you'll primarily focus within this team, we value your ability to collaborate and inspire across teams.

What We Think Is Most Exciting About The Role

You will provide technical leadership of the “Growth and Trading” team; guiding the engineers in the team to elegant solutions and truly impactful deliverables. Together, your team builds products to increase the value our customers receive and the volume of policies we sell, so you’re in the heart of both technical complexity and business growth at Flock.

a Little More On What You’ll Be Doing

  • You’ll design and implement elegant solutions to technical problems and success will be measured by positive impact on the company and the team.
  • You’ll partner your team’s product manager in the team to define, scope and solve each problem collaboratively.
  • While the PM focuses on the “why” and “what”, you will shape the “how” and “when” in collaboration with the 2 engineers in your team.
  • You’ll ensure the team delivers meaningful solutions while mentoring the other engineers in the team towards focus, speed and positive impact.
  • You’ll collaborate with the other product teams and the Head of Architecture to enhance our platform and patterns.
  • You’ll report to the Head of Engineering and collaborate with the CTO and other Product/Tech leadership to cultivate developer experience through principles and practices.
