Our Creative team is a fast paced department with a high turnover of short-form work. The department is responsible for creative output ranging from promos for our owned TV channels, social accounts, press and PR to branding to high profile multiplatform 360 marketing campaigns for show launches and Events. We deliver assets for commercial TV, print, social, performance marketing, Out-of-home, CTV, digital and radio as well as any new media deliveries which may be required by campaign media plans.

What will you be doing?

A vital role within the department, the Production Manager is responsible for daily production duties including resourcing for Campaigns from Designers to Creatives to Finishing and post-production, to assisting the Senior Production Managers with deliveries for the largest campaigns and leading smaller projects alone. You may be responsible for leading more junior production staff (where applicable) and will ensure all creative demands are delivered with creative excellence, on brand, on time and on budget.

Finance

  • Alongside other UK Production Managers, monitor and report overall budget for the 5 creative team
  • Prepare cost estimates for new projects and campaigns as needed
  • Provide financial data to Seniors as required.
  • Ensure spend aligns with wider business objectives
  • Track freelance costs and flag likely overspends to Seniors/HoP
  • Adhere to company guidelines regarding production spend, expenses and T&E.

Daily production

  • Maintain an overview of all assigned projects and ensure resource is available, scheduled and accurately negotiated for at the appropriate time, both in terms of people and facilities.
  • Anticipate the needs of upcoming projects and resource appropriately to prevent delays at the start of a project
  • Liaise closely with brand marketing, performance marketing and media planning/media agency to ensure smooth delivery of all content as required
  • Supervise work of other production staff as necessary, delegating tasks as appropriate
  • Bring efficiency and rigour to working practices
  • Assist with forward planning as required
  • Source and recruit freelance teams who are well-suited to projects, where necessary, setting them up on Paramount systems and ensure they have the equipment and drive/platform access as required.
  • Coordinate Clearcast delivery, on-air delivery and off-air delivery as required
  • Run post-production bookings, on-air delivery and off-air delivery with support as needed.
  • Ensure timeframes for creation and delivery are realistic and communicated across wider business
  • Ensure all deliveries are timely and on budget, while adhering to creative ideals.

Legal & business affairs

  • Liaison point for compliance workflow both for in-house and external deliveries.
  • Liaise with the legal, HR and finance departments for all contracts, NDA’s, vendor selection, capex, payments, and implement new company policies effectively into the daily work routine e.g. freelancer employment guidelines, expenses and T&E, v/o contract negotiations, be aware of changes to accounts payable processes.
  • Awareness of contracts, negotiations and legal issues (with mentorship from Seniors)

Line management

  • Potentially a direct report (to be decided) and managing freelance production staff as necessary
  • Effectively resource and support production teams on allocated projects
  • Support with recruiting new talent as needed
  • Cross brand working
  • This role may involve working across the Creative team which includes 5 and MTV, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central.
  • You will work closely with Production Managers across the other brands to manage deliveries and resource for cross promotion as needed.

What skills do you need?

  • Experience with all aspects of short-form and branding production: ideally within an on-air / off-air / digital / commercials environment.
  • Highly organised and planned approach to work.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communications and relationship management skills.
  • Experience of all types of post-production and graphics facilities essential.
  • Experience of budget creation, forecast and management including forecasting accurately for productions from key art photo shoots to clip-based campaigns to film shoots.
  • Accomplished in multi-tasking and leading several projects at any one time
  • Experience of project management and production processes across all media formats.
  • Experience in solving complex problems.
  • Highly numerate.
  • Excellent administration skills.
