Job Description

Heathrow’s award-winning Procurement team are looking to further build its capability in Learning & Development sourcing and contract management and seeks a Contract Manager to support the Corporate Services agenda across Heathrow’s functional directorates, building great relationships and delivering ‘best-in-class’ procurement.

This is an exciting role, supporting a Learning & Development annual spend of at least £7m with partners and suppliers that are strategic to Heathrow’s success. You’ll work closely with colleagues delivering our Learning & Development strategy in line with Heathrow’s business priorities, identifying opportunities to deliver value to the business, creating robust sourcing strategies, and managing risk through your contracting and effective supplier relationship management.

Your role will involve

  • Leading and influencing both strategic and tactical sourcing activities for the Learning & Development procurement category in high and low value procurements, aligning with the business and the broader business / market strategies.
  • Constructively challenging business plans and strategy documents to ensure robustness of approach that maximises commercial opportunity and mitigates risk for this category.
  • Engaging with the external market for procurement matters e.g. new commercial models, market shifts, new product offerings, innovation and trends; bring back best practices and lead initiatives to embed them within the operations.
  • Supporting and in some cases leading processes for SRM, performance management, benefits and savings and continuous improvement targets whilst meeting all contract, regulatory and exit strategy requirements.
  • Managing contract and supplier relationships to maximise commercial and contractual benefit.


These Skills Are Essential

  • Experience in either Indirect or Professional services procurement
  • Advanced partnering, influencing and negotiation skills to build strong relationships
  • Experience in a variety of Procurement and Contracting models, using a range of reimbursement/pricing models
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organisation, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly customer focused and ability to understand the needs of the Heathrow business

Working Location

Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow . Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
