Zest Education is working with a specialist SEN school in North/Northwest London that supports students aged 7 to 16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work full-time with a small Year 1 class, starting as soon as possible.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to Year 1 pupils with complex emotional needs

  • Building trusting relationships and acting as a positive role model for pupils

  • Supporting pupils in managing their emotions and engaging with learning

  • Collaborating with class teachers, therapists and wider school staff to ensure the best outcomes

What we’re looking for:

  • A patient, caring and consistent individual who can bring calm and structure to the classroom

  • Experience working with children is beneficial, but not essential – we welcome transferable skills from roles in youth work, care, or support services

  • A strong desire to help young people grow in confidence and independence

  • Full-time availability and a long-term commitment to the role

What’s on offer:

  • A supportive school environment with full training and induction

  • The chance to secure a permanent position after a successful initial period

  • Daily pay of £90 – £100, paid weekly

  • A meaningful role where no two days are the same and every day makes a difference

This is an ideal opportunity for anyone looking to build a career in education, therapy, or child development. If you’re ready to be a part of something genuinely rewarding, apply today to join the team.

Zest Education are an APSCo audited agency and are dedicated to safeguarding children. All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.

The role advertised is for temporary supply work.
