Are you a Criminology graduate with a keen interest in child development, behaviour, and safeguarding? Are you looking to gain hands-on experience supporting vulnerable young children in a school setting?

We are working with a number of Primary schools across North London seeking caring, confident, and proactive graduates to support pupils aged 4–11 with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and behavioural challenges.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND and behavioural needs
  • Assist with classroom management, emotional regulation, and individual learning plans
  • Implement targeted intervention strategies in collaboration with the SENCO and class teacher
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement, independence, and self-esteem
  • Work closely with external agencies, including CAMHS, therapists, and safeguarding teams, where appropriate

Flexible work options

We have full-time Graduate Teaching Assistant contracts available in primary schools across North London.

We are also looking for Criminology Graduate Teaching Assistants to work on a more flexible cover basis with immediate starts. This is ideal if you just want to work a few days in local primary schools, or want to build experience across various year groups. Supply Teaching Assistant work can be provided in advance and first thing in the morning to cover absences.

We welcome applicants who:

  • Hold a Criminology (or related) degree
  • Have experience working with children – ideally in education, mentoring, youth work, or mental health
  • Are enthusiastic, resilient, and genuinely passionate about supporting children with additional needs
  • Are available to work immediately or from the upcoming academic term

Teaching Assistant roles are ideal for Criminology graduates who want to make a real difference while developing valuable experience in areas such as early intervention, child psychology and educational support.
