Join our Commodities Markets and Financing team as Global Head of LNG Trading with a focus on growth in physical trading. As part of the Commodities and Global Markets business at Macquarie, the team utilise our trading presence in gas and power and combines activities in the physical and financial markets to create highly effective and bespoke risk management solutions for clients across the energy asset class.

While Macquarie offers hybrid working for many of our roles, this role does require 5 days a week in our office location.

What role will you play?

You will be responsible for managing a team of traders and providing physical and derivative solutions to meet our clients’ needs, achieving PnL targets, expanding existing relationships and onboarding new counterparties. Your responsibilities will include engaging in short to mid-term physical LNG trading activities, optimising the existing portfolio through physical and derivative hedging, position taking and leading commercial discussions with counterparties.

What You Offer

• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in LNG Trading with experience in leading a trading team
• Subject matter expert on the LNG trading cycle with knowledge of derivatives and hedging strategies
• A keen eye for detail and an excellent standard of work with demonstrated commercial astuteness
• Ability to build strong working partnerships with stakeholders and clients with outstanding verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to liaise with clients in Mandarin would be an advantage.
