Enhancing Community Engagement & Outreach You will be the face of SSCKP at events, ensuring that service users, volunteers, and supporters feel welcome and informed. Your work will help us engage with the community, spreading awareness about food insecurity, sustainability, and the benefits of using surplus produce. 2. Strengthening Our Programs & Services Your support will increase participation in our cooking classes, soup kitchens, and food distribution programs, ensuring more people benefit from these services. 3. Supporting SSCKP’s Growth & Long-Term Sustainability Your efforts will shape how we present ourselves to service users, stakeholders, funders, and the general public. You will play a key role in fundraising and networking, helping us secure essential funding, sponsorships, and partnerships. 4. Creating Social Impact & Building a Stronger Community By facilitating inclusive events, you will help bridge generational gaps and create a sense of belonging for participants from diverse backgrounds. Your role will foster friendships and social connections, reducing social isolation, improving mental well-being, and strengthening the local community.

What are we looking for?

Skills Communication Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with community members, partners, and fellow volunteers. Organisational Strong planning, coordination, and time management skills to ensure events run smoothly. Digital Literacy Familiarity with social media and basic marketing tools for promoting events and engaging online audiences. Problem-Solving Ability to address challenges creatively and adapt to unexpected changes during events. Experience Event Planning Prior experience in organizing and executing events, workshops, or community gatherings. Community Outreach Background in outreach, volunteer coordination, or public relations, ideally within a nonprofit or community-focused setting. Team Collaboration Experience working collaboratively in team environments, contributing to both planning and on-the-ground execution of projects. Qualities Approachable & Personable Friendly, open, and capable of making participants feel welcomed and valued. As an Events & Community Engagement Volunteer at Seasoned and Saiged Community Kitchen Program (SSCKP), you will help plan, organise, and deliver events that bring the community together. From cooking workshops and food distribution events to fundraising activities, you will be at the heart of engaging with people, spreading awareness about food sustainability, and ensuring our programs reach those who need them most. Your role will involve Assisting in event setup, coordination, and smooth execution. Engaging with attendees, making them feel welcome, and ensuring they get the most out of the experience. Helping to promote SSCKP’s programs through community outreach and engagement. Gathering feedback from event participants to improve future initiatives. Supporting volunteer coordination and ensuring a strong team dynamic. Key Deliverables Successful planning and execution of community events and workshops. Increased awareness and participation in SSCKPs programs. Stronger relationships with local businesses, community members, and partner organisations. Valuable insights collected from participants to refine and improve events.
