About the role

You will be processing and assessing all types of Housing Benefit and Council Tax reduction, new claims and changes in circumstance in accordance with the relevant legislation. You will be working on a mainly Temporary Accommodation tenures on casework basis, offering specialist support and advice on all aspect of income maximisation, welfare benefit and financial capability to colleagues and tenants alike. You will be expected to be detail-oriented, have strong analytical skills, have up to date knowledge of Housing Benefit and Council Tax Legislation and committed to providing excellent customer service.

About you

You will be working within the Housing Income Maximisation (HIMAX) team, alongside colleagues in the Income Management team, to provide a holistic package of support and interventions to tenants at risk of financial exclusion, developing and supporting strategies to prevent the accrual or debt among the more vulnerable groups.

You must have extensive experience of working with Temporary Accommodation within a local authority setting. Previous experience of working with Northgate NEC, Iworld and Information at Work would be an advantage.
