Job Description
We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our public sector client on a permanent basis. The role will involve working independently on new and ongoing Data Science projects, including pricing analytics, predictive modelling, segmentation, topic modelling, insight automation and discovery work with existing and new structured and unstructured data sources.

The role will involve working independently on new and ongoing Data Science projects, including pricing analytics, predictive modelling, segmentation, topic modelling, insight automation and discovery work with existing and new structured and unstructured data sources.
Essential Experience
- Extensive experience in applying ML algorithms to discover insights and improve business processes.
- Extensive experience in building and deploying predictive and forecast models.
- Extensive experience in presenting and communicating data and insights effectively.
- Experience in supporting other analysts and establishing processes to improve efficiency and quality.
- Ability to interpret and summarise findings for non-data literate stakeholders.
- Expert level knowledge in one of R or Python and their respective eco systems, including experience in writing efficient, optimised code for complex programs and scripts, sharing reusable programs in packages/modules, setting coding best practices for the team, using version control tools and experience in code testing approaches.
- Expert level knowledge in creating web applications using packages such as plotly/dash/shiny including reactive programming and ability to customise functionality or appearance as needed using e.g. CSS/javascript.
- Working knowledge of business intelligence or data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Extensive experience across a range of data visualisation tools and techniques.
- Extensive experience in querying business to consumer relational databases, data lakes or other infrastructures and repositories holding customer and operational data using SQL or ORMs in one or both of on-premise and cloud settings.
- Experience in using generative AI as part of your workflow, including prompting LLMs specialized in coding without disseminating sensitive information.
