Your opportunity

• You’ll work on a high-performing agile technical team, and provide technical assistance to the Multi Asset portfolio management team in London. This team is one of the growth areas at our firm. You’ll assist the team with:
• software development (mostly python), including data analysis and plotting
• data access and ETL, including using various databases and APIs
• PowerBI dashboards
• using Azure Cloud
• incorporating DevOps and other technical standards
• Our team likes individuals that are good communicators, anxious to learn, flexible, capable of juggling priorities and shifting focus quickly as needed, and willing to help our team, business partners, or other teams in any way necessary
• Carry out other duties as assigned

Must have skills

• Strong understanding of Python, including libraries/frameworks such as Pandas, NumPy, Jupyter Notebook, plotting libraries, etc.
• Strong SQL skills, preferably Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Lite. Includes advanced querying with complex joins, and ability to create and update tables, views, and stored procedures.
• Experience with consuming data from APIs and other feeds
• Databricks and/or Snowflake experience, including using python for ETL
• Cloud experience, preferably Microsoft Azure, including creating and using VMs, data storage, function apps, security, etc.
• Ability to create and update dashboards with visualization tools, preferably PowerBI
• Experience with orchestration tools, preferably Apache Airflow
• Experience with collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Teams, and Git
• Experience with DevOps procedures and pipelines
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with both developers and business partners
• Enjoyment from collaborating with others in a fast-paced team environment
• Drive and self-reliance
• Must adhere to compliance rules, including for personal trading, that are common for regulated investments firms
  
  

Nice to have skills

• Experience analyzing time-series data, esp. as related to investments
• Experience with Market Data Feeds and front ends such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv/DataStream, Reuters etc.
• Understanding of investments and experience in the investments industry
• Quantitative skills, especially for investments
• Experience with Visual Studio/VS Code
• Experience working in an Agile environment
