We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking electrically biased MEP manager to join our established and growing team in the mace infrastructure business unit.

You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Managing all elements of the defined MEP packages, from design to delivery into service. These will include, but not limited to, electrical, mechanical, fire alarm, IT, BMS, UPS.
  • Managing temporary and permanent installations.
  • Ensuring all aspects detailed in the precontract, contract governance, mobilisation, construction, delivery, and handover sections are fully adhered to.
  • Managing the relevant subcontractor, to ensure full compliance to these requirements.
  • Promoting and delivering a collaborative environment throughout all members of the team including stakeholders and the supply chain.
  • Establishing and maintaining site organisation and facilitate effective communications between the employer’s representatives.
  • Leading on all aspects of the programme and production control process, associated with your package responsibility.
  • Ensuring that the programme is maintained and where programme is slipping, advising the project lead in good time, so that appropriate action can be taken.
  • Taking part in decisions affecting cost and programme, such that issues are considered holistically for the good of the overall project.
  • Assisting in the preparation of all programmes, understanding critical path activities, system constraints and interdependencies.
  • Reviewing and commenting on all design information, to ensure it is buildable and commissionable.
  • Ensuring all works undertaken on site, are done so in a safe manner.
  • Carrying out weekly health and safety tours and record all issues on Yellow Jacket.
  • Ensuring robust method statements, risk assessments are in place and approved, prior to commencement of any works.
  • Leading on all aspects of quality, associated with your package responsibility.
  • Ensuring each handover date, or area completion is achieved snag-free. Ensure works are completed in time and include snagging clearance.

You’ll Need To Have

  • Degree qualification in engineering and a member of a professional body such as CIBSE or the IET. Other building services HND level qualifications may also be considered.
  • Experience of working in high risk or other mission critical and logistically challenging environments such as rail and aviation.
  • Experience in the construction industry, having carried out an apprenticeship, or similar, having hands on experience during your previous early employments.
  • Problem solving, being confident to make decisions on your own, so being self-sufficient.
  • Personal effectiveness and being able to adapt to different situations/environments that the construction industry comes with, this will include assisting other project team members, or other non-M&E packages when project needs are required.
  • Is planned and organised, ensuring any stored files/documents are located/stored in relevant folders/platforms, so other project members, or higher management can access at any time.
  • You are digitally savvy, working across several software platforms such as Aconex, BIM, Yellow Jacket, Infomace, Excel, PowerPoint etc. Can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated construction teams.
  • Being collaborative with other delivery partners and third parties working in the Airport environment. Can utilise and manage the many processes and procedures we need to adhere to at Heathrow and MACE.
