This is a unique role for a proactive and passionate Health and Safety Advisor to make a significant impact in a fast-growing property management company. The successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping a new department from the ground up, working directly with senior leadership to drive health and safety standards across a large and diverse residential portfolio.Our client, a dynamic and ambitious property management agency established in November 2020, exclusively manages the residential fund assets of approximately 4,500 units across major UK cities including London, Leeds, and Exeter. The portfolio also includes 16 Higher Risk Buildings (HRBs) registered with the Building Safety Regulator.As their first dedicated Health and Safety professional, the successful candidate will have the chance to shape internal strategy and systems while supporting a portfolio that is actively growing through ongoing acquisitions. This is a rare and exciting chance to make a tangible impact within a business on the rise.Job OverviewAn experienced and qualified Health and Safety Advisor is sought to join the residential property management team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, with a proven track record in maintaining health and safety standards within residential properties. Responsibilities include ensuring the safety of both residents and staff, advising on compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and promoting a safe working environment across the property portfolio.Key Responsibilities- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation across the residential property portfolio.- Risk Assessments: Oversee, guide, and manage the resolution of actions raised in risk assessments for all properties.- Regulator Communication: Represent the company and communicate directly with relevant statutory bodies and authorities.- Safety Inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections of residential buildings, reporting findings and ensuring prompt resolution of issues.- Safety Policies & Procedures: Develop, implement, and update health and safety policies and procedures.- Training & Awareness: Provide health and safety training for staff and tenants, raising awareness of health and safety issues.- Accident Investigation: Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents, ensuring thorough reporting and follow-up.- Compliance Documentation: Maintain and manage all health and safety documentation.- Contractor Management: Ensure contractors comply with health and safety requirements.- Health & Safety Audits: Conduct internal health and safety audits and assist in external audits.- Emergency Procedures: Oversee the development and implementation of emergency procedures, including fire safety and evacuation plans.Skills & Qualifications- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar Health and Safety Advisor role, ideally within residential property management.- Relevant Health and Safety Qualification: NEBOSH or IOSH certification.- Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation.- Proven ability to conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments.- Excellent communication skills for delivering safety training and advice.- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.This is a compelling chance for a dedicated Health and Safety professional to join a thriving company and make a lasting impact.
