Description

Leading the way in electric vehicle charging, we've been at the forefront of adoption in the UK since 2009. With over 250,000 charge points installed so far, out of a total of 1 million in the UK, we make EV ownership simple and affordable.

Partnering with top automotive brands like Mercedes, Jaguar Land Rover, BMW and Kia, as well as energy leaders such as EDF and Centrica, we’ve earned accolades such as the 'Which? - Trusted Trader' award and 'Best for Value, Home EV Chargers - What Car?'

Pod is the next evolution of Pod Point. As electrification becomes everyday, Pod is here to help build a brighter future for society by managing the flow of energy, making it affordable, accessible, and for the benefit of everyone. With 250,000 customers already trusting us to be at the heart of their EV life, we see Pod playing a leading role in the UK’s increasingly electrified future. Our focus is on powering not just homes and vehicles, but local communities and social progress.

Our Ways of Working

We’re all about flexibility, community and a healthy work-life balance. Our hybrid model offers a 'best of both worlds' approach combining the best parts of home and office working. When you'll be in the office depends on your role, but you can expect to work from our London office between 8-12 days per month.

To support this, the successful applicant should be within a reasonably commutable distance to our office (Gray's Inn Road, London, WC1X 8HB).

Join the EVolution:

As a UX/UI Designer at Pod Point, you’ll play a key role in shaping intuitive, user-centered experiences across a diverse range of digital touchpoints—from our mobile apps and website to internal tools and platforms. You’ll be at the heart of a cross-functional team, working alongside product managers, engineers, and fellow designers to bring our brand and values to life.

You’ll also be responsible for:

  • Craft seamless, end-to-end experiences across apps, web tools, and platforms, always staying true to our design system, brand, and values.
  • Contribute to our product roadmap by designing impactful solutions that deliver real value, while ensuring design quality and consistency throughout.
  • Be a key player in collaborative squads, working closely with other disciplines to bring ideas to life and iterate quickly.
  • Evolve and scale our design system, helping us raise the bar on design quality, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Own clean, organised Figma files that are dev-ready and system-aware—because attention to detail matters.
  • Lead user research to uncover insights that drive design decisions. You’ll plan studies, prototype ideas, and test with real users.
  • Facilitate workshops and co-creation sessions, aligning teams and stakeholders to build empathy and uncover opportunities.
  • Use data, feedback, and analytics to continuously improve our digital experiences and inform design strategy.
  • Communicate and present your design thinking clearly and confidently to product teams and stakeholders, gathering feedback and building alignment.

Electrify us with your skills:

We think the role would be great for somebody who has previously worked within a UX/UI or product design setting, we also ask for the following:

  • A portfolio that clearly demonstrates your skills, process and impact across digital products
  • Strong ownership mindset—you're confident leading your work and asking questions when things are unclear
  • Passionate about improving the customer experience and using design to solve practical problems beautifully
  • Deeply customer-centric—you make design decisions grounded in real user needs, and can balance these with business goals to create smart, impactful solutions
  • Comfortable running your own research—from planning and facilitation to synthesis and action
  • Experience facilitating workshops and guiding teams through ideation or problem-solving sessions
  • Deep experience with Figma—you know all the tricks and keep your files slick, scalable and structured
  • Experience collaborating with developers and shipping work in agile product teams
  • You’ll be familiar with building and using design systems to support consistent company-wide application of brand language in digital services
  • Curious, adaptable and keen to explore new tools and trends, including AI in design workflows
  • Someone people love to work with—positive, proactive and a great communicator

Further to the above, if you have any experience with the following, do shout about it on your CV, as whilst not a requirement, it would certainly be a bonus if you had:

  • Experience with other design tools like Miro, Adobe Creative Suite and front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or React, Flutter etc to collaborate effectively with developers.
  • Experience with A/B testing or multivariate testing.
  • Strong storytelling skills to present and advocate design concepts effectively.

Perks that spark joy:

  • Salary of £60,000 - £70,000 DOE
  • Access for you and up to 5 family/friends to the 'UnMind' wellbeing platform
  • Flexible hybrid working model
  • Work abroad for up to 20 days per year
