We are currently supporting a market-leading facilities management provider in the recruitment of a Multi-Skilled High Voltage (HV) Authorised Person (AP) Engineer for a prestigious site based in Colindale. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a technically challenging environment, providing essential electrical and mechanical support across a critical building services infrastructure.As the HV AP Engineer, you will be responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and control of high-voltage systems on-site, while also delivering multi-skilled support across a range of mechanical and electrical plant. You’ll work as part of a well-established team, ensuring compliance, performance, and safety across all engineering activities. Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as an HV Authorised Person, managing and issuing permits in line with company safety rules and procedures.
  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM), fault finding, and reactive works on both electrical and mechanical building systems.
  • Carry out switching schedules, isolations, and re-energising of HV systems.
  • Support critical site infrastructure and ensure minimum downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records for compliance, inspection, and permit systems.
  • Work collaboratively with FM management, contractors, and the client to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
Essential Requirements:
  • HV AP status with valid certification (up to 11kV or higher preferred).
  • Recognised qualifications in electrical/mechanical engineering (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
  • Strong background in both electrical and mechanical maintenance within a commercial or critical environment.
  • Solid understanding of SFG20, H&S regulations, and statutory compliance.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Right to work in the UK and able to work on-site full-time.
