CarmichaelUK are recruiting for an experienced Agent to lead the delivery of a highways structures refurbishment project in London, working with a Tier 1 contractor. This is a key leadership role, responsible for managing site teams, coordinating programme delivery, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency on a technically demanding scheme.

This project involves refurbishment of highway structures including steelwork, concrete repairs, surfacing, and associated temporary works in a live environment — ideal for a capable Agent with a strong major civils and highways background.

• Take full ownership of a section of works, managing daily delivery and strategic planning

• Lead site teams including engineers, foremen, and subcontractors

• Ensure all activities are carried out safely, on programme, and to required quality standards

• Coordinate complex works including temporary works, lifting operations, and traffic management

• Drive the production and review of method statements, risk assessments, permits, and ITPs

• Liaise with client representatives, consultants, and supply chain to maintain progress and collaboration

• Monitor progress, report against programme, and identify risk or delay

• Proven experience as an Agent on major highways or civils projects

• Strong technical background in structures, including steel, concrete, surfacing, and repairs

• Experience working in live highways environments, coordinating with traffic management and safety teams

• Familiar with temporary works and lifting operations (TWC or AP advantageous)

• Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills

• CSCS, SMSTS, and relevant civil engineering qualification required
