Senior Engineer - #1740419

CarmichaelUK is recruiting for a Senior Engineer to join a Tier 1 contractor on a major highways structures refurbishment project in London. This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer to lead key elements of a technically complex programme focused on structural improvements to critical transport infrastructure.

• Lead the delivery of refurbishment works including concrete repairs, steelwork installation, surfacing, and traffic management

• Manage and mentor Site Engineers and ensure accurate QA documentation

• Coordinate with Temporary Works Coordinators and lifting specialists to ensure safe operations

• Develop and review RAMS, ITPs, and method statements

• Drive construction activities to meet programme, safety, and quality targets

• Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and issue resolution

• Contribute to short- and medium-term planning, ensuring that labour, materials, and plant are efficiently managed

• Previous experience as a Senior Engineer on major highways or structures refurbishment projects

• Strong technical understanding of concrete and steelwork repairs, surfacing, and temporary works

• Experience in managing lifting operations, permits, and daily reporting

• Familiar with traffic planning and highway constraints in live environments

• Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills

• CSCS card required | SMSTS or SSSTS preferred | TW experience desirable
