Are you a compassionate and proactive individual with a passion for supporting positive behaviour in young learners? A vibrant primary school in Croydon is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to provide crucial support to children across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

This is an excellent full-time, long-term opportunity with the potential for a permanent contract for the right person. We are particularly interested in candidates with a sport or psychology background, as these skills are highly beneficial in understanding and guiding pupil behaviour.

This school prides itself on fostering a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where every child can thrive both academically and emotionally. As a Behaviour Mentor, you'll work closely with primary pupils, offering one-to-one support and leading small group activities focused on developing positive social, emotional, and behavioural skills. Your role will be vital in helping them fully engage with their learning journey.

Why this role is for you:

  • Long-term position with potential for permanent employment
  • Competitive pay of £95-£115 per day
  • Opportunity to arrange a trial day to experience the school first-hand
  • Access to free professional development in areas like SEND, behaviour management, and safeguarding
  • Join a supportive team and a positive school culture

What you'll be doing:

  • Providing tailored behavioural support to individual pupils during lessons and activities
  • Implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and build pupil self-confidence and regulation skills
  • Collaborating effectively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals to develop and apply behaviour plans
  • Monitoring pupil progress and adapting strategies to meet evolving needs and challenges
  • Facilitating small group interventions focused on social skills and emotional literacy

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has prior experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in a behaviour support or TA role within a school setting (KS1 or KS2)
  • Is calm, empathetic, and exceptionally dependable
  • Can confidently navigate and manage challenging behaviours with a therapeutic approach
  • Holds an enhanced DBS on the update service (or is willing to apply for one)
  • A sport or psychology background is a significant advantage, offering valuable insights into motivation and emotional well-being.

The application process is straightforward:

  • Send over your CV
  • Have a chat with Jack at Long Term Futures
  • Complete the necessary compliance checks
  • Meet the school team
  • Start your exciting new role!
  • Ready to make a real difference in the lives of children in Croydon through positive behaviour support?

Get in touch with Jack at Long-term Futures to discuss this role or other behaviour support and teaching vacancies in the Croydon area.
