We are seeking a VP/Market Leader for our Questex Hospitality, Operational Real Estate Division. Questex Hospitality is the business intelligence platform for the Hospitality Investment community. We connect buyers and sellers through our editorial platform www.hospitalityinvestor.com as well as run some of the world’s largest Hospitality investment Conferences such as The International Hospitality Investment Forum (IHIF EMEA), The Annual Hospitality Conference (AHC), The Resort & Residential Hospitality Forum (R&R), The International Hospitality Investment Forum (IHIF Asia) as well as one of the world’s largest Hospitality Investment Conference is the US – NYU International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference (NYUHIIC).
Responsibilities
As a VP Market Leader in a hybrid role (three days in the office, two days remote), your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the development of the market’s financial and KPI-driven strategic plan to profitably achieve or exceed budgeted financial goals and to grow the business unit’s existing products or other ancillary revenue opportunities.
- Develops the market’s annual business plan with team resources and in collaboration with other key stakeholders, including budgets for all new and existing products & platforms; staffing plans and cluster costs and monitors managers’ and staff performance against budgeted targets to ensure that all revenue producing activities are undertaken within established budget targets for group revenue and profit margins.
- Lead the teams responsible for directing the content, sales, marketing, advertising, promotion, public relations and education activities, all product platform operations and meeting logistics processes related to the market’s revenue platforms and the industry served to ensure financial goals are achieved and goals are aligned with overall business plan.
- Responsible for managing the research and development process of identifying new product development opportunities within the business unit’s served industries; includes market-testing new opportunities and if commercially feasible, executing new launch strategies on receipt of go/no go approval.
- Serves as the Market’s spokesperson, promoter, and representative to the industry via participation in industry associations and events as public speaker and visible leader on issues of importance to the industry.
- Collaborates effectively on driving sales, audience, and business development activity with internal stakeholders as part of the overall strategy for the assigned industry.
Your Experience And Education Include
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive responsibility for content, sales, marketing, business development and leadership experience, preferably within the B-to-B industry or comparable other industry experience.
- A collaborative style and approach to accomplishing goals serving in a senior leadership role within a matrixed organization.
- P/L management experience required. Knowledge and experience in maintaining sound fiscal policy, including development and oversight of budgets, revenue management, cost management and operations management.
- Experience in short and long-range planning and corporate development for a growing organization is highly preferred
- A verifiable record of success with management, supervision, strategy implementation and evaluation, and relationship building.
- Possess a high degree of sales, managerial, negotiating, financial and time management skills; good with numbers and detail- oriented.
- Significant experience utilizing typical business productivity tools; this includes experience in presentations and spread sheet applications; high proficiency in Salesforce.com a plus.
- An ability to work and communicate effectively with all stakeholders including staff, clients, and media community.
- Demonstrated ability to articulate positively, clearly, and professionally to diverse audiences efficiently influencing internal and external customers, as well as key stakeholders.

- Travel required.
