The Housing Inclusion Service

The Housing Inclusion Service at Royal Greenwich provides vital advice, support, and assistance to individuals facing homelessness and other housing challenges, seeking help from the Council. Our primary goal is to prevent homelessness by offering personalised, high-quality advice and support to help individuals resolve their housing needs.

The Role:

We are looking for an outstanding individual with the motivation and commitment to delivering excellent services. Our Housing Inclusion Officers manage an allocated caseload, with a strengths-based approach in providing housing options advice, conducting needs assessments and determining housing duties owed in accordance with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. They are also responsible for meeting set targets for homelessness prevention by providing solutions-focused support through casework with customers, and effective working relationship with partners.

The Requirements:

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a good understanding of, and ability to deliver the duties required by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. You will also have good customer care focus and casework management skills including the ability to work with sensitive and confidential information for vulnerable customers in accordance with relevant legislation and policy requirements. You must be an excellent communicator both written and verbal with good IT skills, and the ability to negotiate housing solutions for customers approaching the Council for homelessness assistance.
