Job Title: Salaried Partner and Head of Department : Private Client

PQE: 10+

Location: Surrey

Salary: GBP 85,000 + Bonus

The Role

A unique and rewarding opportunity for a highly experienced Private Client Lawyer to step into a senior leadership position at a well:regarded firm. Reporting directly to the Equity Partners, this role involves managing and developing the private client department, overseeing a busy caseload, and playing a key role in business strategy. Responsibilities include:

: Running a varied and high:value caseload across wills, trusts, estate planning, probate and LPAs

: Leading, mentoring, and developing the Private Client team

: Ensuring compliance with firm policies and regulatory obligations

: Contributing to the firm's financial targets and profitability

: Representing the department at partner meetings and contributing to firm:wide decisions

: Delivering exceptional client care while managing expectations and risk effectively

: Proactively driving new business and cross:referrals across the firm

The Candidate

This role will suit a senior Private Client Solicitor with a minimum of 10 years' PQE and demonstrable experience in departmental leadership. You must also be able to demonstrate:

: A solid track record of technical excellence in private client law

: Strong billing history and commercial awareness

: Experience in managing a team and departmental targets

: Excellent drafting, communication, and client handling skills

: A strategic mindset and genuine enthusiasm for leadership and growth

: Commitment to compliance, training, and risk management best practices
