We are seeking an experienced Application Support Analyst to liaise with vendors, business users and product teams to perform installations, identify route cause and deliver fix\enhancements. The candidate would ideally also have knowledge in commodity trading and will be delivery focused. Experience of working with Agile (SCRUM) development and delivery teams is advantageous.
The ideal candidate disposes of:
- Work as part of an application team providing application support to business users for front office developed applications and interfaces.
- Develop a deep understanding and technical knowledge of business processes and applications to be supported. To use this knowledge in providing all levels of support.
- Developing code fixes and minor enhancements to supported systems.
- Participate in code review and release management process by acting as Support SME for applications that are under the domain of the Support Analyst.
- Create and maintain App Support knowledge base by documenting and communicating issues and resolutions to agreed standards.
- Provide users with “ad-hoc” reports, not available through application software, including management information, audit extracts, business as usual and project work as required.
- Complete continuous improvement to identify and help promote development opportunities to streamline current business and / or IT processes.
- To perform installations of new products and / or in-place upgrades of existing platforms.
- To act as a SME and provide technical guidance to development teams writing programmatic tests of applications and services in the domain of the Support Analyst.
- To perform or contribute to the regular reviews of platform licensing, user accounts, application roles and database access.
- Front office / Customer Facing application support experience.
- Strong SQL skills with the better understanding of how to apply complex SQL JOINs to optimize the queries and adapt them for use across different SQL platforms like SQL Server, MySQL.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to develop innovative solutions to technical problems whilst working within the company’s governance framework.
- Incident management skills leading & owning the issues from start to resolution leading to root cause analysis.
- Problem management skills in regular checks & follow ups on defects & bug arising from incidents.
- A flexible and adaptable attitude, with the ability to multi-task and respond quickly to changing priorities; able to prioritise work effectively and meet deadlines.
- Interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Confluence and Jira experience
- Implement Application related critical alerts and create a relevant response document.
