Senior Mechanical Engineer - Asset Management Property Portfolio / Developer - Client Side! The are currently seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer with strong experience in asset management to help maintain and optimise their building systems across the portfolio. Role Overview: As the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will ensure all mechanical plant installations and equipment within the group are maintained to the highest standards, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and current Health & Safety regulations. This role is 5 days a week in their head office at Canary Wharf with travel required to sites across London. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct routine maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment. * Diagnose faults by observing equipment in operation and using precision instruments. * Assemble, install, and repair piping systems, plumbing fixtures, and water drainage systems. * Inspect plant room machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation. * Plan and carry out scheduled and preventive maintenance-some outside standard hours. * Attend and resolve mechanical failures, breakdowns, or malfunctions efficiently. * Replace or repair faulty components and systems. * Ensure compliance with all safety standards and maintain a clean work environment. * Maintain adequate stock of parts and materials in coordination with procurement and accounting. * Document all maintenance tasks in line with company procedures. * Participate in on-call rotations and be flexible with working hours as needed. Experience & Skills Required: * Solid understanding of mechanical maintenance practices, especially with: * Generators, HVAC systems, air conditioning, water treatment, and plumbing installations. * Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical and basic electrical schematics. * Experience using maintenance management software. * At least 5 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within multi-site property management or facilities services. * Practical knowledge of welding, fabrication, plumbing, and mechanical fitting. * Excellent problem-solving skills with strong communication abilities. * Ability to work both independently and within a team. * Reliable, adaptable, and safety-conscious. Qualifications: * BSc/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification. * BTEC Level 3 or above in Maintenance Engineering, or NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Plumbing.
