It is an exciting time to be joining the Talent & Skills team at Standard Chartered. Over the last few years we have been investing in strengthening the way we identify, develop and deploy our talent across the Bank
With a clear business strategy now in place we are refocusing our executive talent management efforts to help us build a strong future leadership pipeline and looking for a senior talent leader to own and drive this agenda.
Working collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders you will be responsible for strengthening the way we do executive talent management across the Bank, helping us to better facilitate movement of top talent into areas of the business that matter most.
Critical to this role is the ability to join the dots, think strategically and manage uncertainty. You will have a strong capability in being able to use data and insight to translate ideas into meaningful actions that enable business performance.
To be successful you will draw upon key technical skills like talent management, talent assessment, succession planning, consulting) and be able to demonstrate a proven track record of executing effectively in this domain of talent management.
A background of experiences across a wide range of contexts, sectors and types of roles within a HR function (COE and HRBP) will be beneficial, including a strong understanding of how to deliver talent processes in a regulated sector.

You will be responsible for defining and leading the global executive talent management approach for the Bank, aligned to our business and people strategy. In partnership with Heads of HR, design and oversee the implementation of succession planning processes for executive talent populations and other critical role segments.

Workforce Analytics; Knowledge of human resources (HR) and workforce issues and trends; ability to analyze workforce data, information and metrics and apply the results to support business decisions.
Industry Knowledge; Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
Effective Communication; Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

Role Specifics
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to design and oversee development and deployment interventions for executive talent segments.
- Act as a trusted advisor and partner with HRBPs to deliver executive talent priorities for business areas, in alignment with the global people plan
- Provide strategic counsel and talent management advice to support delivery of executive talent interventions in business areas and markets
- Partner with HR COE colleagues to colleagues to ensure our approach to executive talent development shaped and delivered in an integrated way in conjunction with other key people priorities
- Lead the delivery of executive talent analytics and reporting to various stakeholders, leveraging data and insight to drive decisions and improve visibility of talent health, diversity and succession risks
- Stay informed of external trends and practices In leading edge executive talent management across the Financial Servcies sector and beyond, using insights to drive innovation in the Bank’s approach to this work.
Strategy
- Partner with key stakeholders to influence, shape, and deliver cross functional talent and skills priorities, linked to the One People Plan to drive value across the Bank
- Act as the point of contact for a specified business area to provide strategic advisory, subject matter expertise and consulting capability to support the delivery of the Banks People Plan.
- Partner with relevant HR stakeholders to drive consistency and impact of talent practises, processes and key messages across the Bank
- Leverage workforce data and insight to demonstrate impact, effectiveness and influence people and talent related decisions across the Bank
- Proactively form credible relationships and drive impact of the function through availability of data that influences decision making across the business
- Where required, take delegated responsibility as the GPO and Product Owner for specific HR processes, products and platforms
- Ensure relevant HR processes are defined and managed to appropriately manage operational risk, employee experience and business impact
- As a People Leader, lead direct reports in a way that is consistent with our Valued Behaviours and Leadership Agreement
- Set and monitor responsibilities for colleagues supporting delivery of the role objectives and key results, ensuring that continuous, balanced feedback is provided in line with performance goals
- Ensure effective first line identification, management, monitoring and reporting of risks is undertaken in line with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) in a way that is consistent with the authority and responsibilities of the role
- Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role
- Maintain oversight of appropriate governance and controls, as they relate to the roles objectives and key results, and if necessary, propose / implement changes as necessary
- Engage with relevant audit report findings and ensure feedback is acted upon
