The computing, digital technology, and digital information resources at Encyclis support the organization's role as a leader in the safe transformation of waste into energy and reusable commodities.

We are seeking an experienced Head of IT to join the team at Encyclis. Following a separation from the previous, US-based parent company, we have established a new IT function, infrastructure, systems and services to support the business objectives and growth plans.

In this role you will drive the technology strategy, managing our information systems and ensuring that our IT applications and services are delivering effective support across the business. The role has full ownership of the execution of the IT strategy covering service desk, end user computing, security, network operations, project management, vendor management and IT governance.

Key Responsibilities

• Technology strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy aligned to the goals and objectives of Encyclis. Identify opportunities for optimization, innovation, and advancement, through adoption of new technologies and value realization of the solutions deployed in the Encyclis estate.
• IT Operating Model: Define and implement an IT operating model that supports the business growth and objectives. This includes the organizational model, ways of working, delivery methods, sourcing strategy and IT/security/data governance frameworks and processes.
• Leadership and Development: Recruit, develop and mentor IT team members, promoting their professional and high levels of employee engagement. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation.
• Digital Transformation: Drive digital transformation initiatives, leveraging technology to optimize business processes, introduce efficiencies and enhance user experience. Chair the Digital Steerco, working with cross functional stakeholders to identify and prioritize digital initiatives.
• Information Security: Drive the information security strategy for Encyclis, safeguarding systems, and data. Monitor and respond to cybersecurity threats and incidents, with a proactive and resilient security posture. Manage and iterate the security awareness programme across the company.
• Customer and Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and internal customers across the organization, and with the Digital Team in our PE owners, EQT.
• Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with technology vendors and partners, setting KPIs and reporting metrics for delivery of services, maintenance and support. Evaluate vendor proposals and contracts to procure and implement cost-effective, high quality technical solutions.
• Financial Management: Develop and manage the IT budget for Encyclis, allocating resources to support the operation of IT and strategic initiatives, whilst maintaining cost efficiency. Monitor and report on IT spending and performance against budget.
• IT Governance and Risk management: Establish and maintain robust IT governance frameworks, policies and procedures for effective and secure management of IT systems, data and technology assets. Oversee the development of appropriate metrics and reporting mechanisms for IT systems to deliver value and manage risk. Manage IT Risk in alignment with the overall Encyclis Corporate risk management process.

• Proven experience in a senior technology leadership role
• Demonstrable experience of developing and executing technology strategies aligned with business goals and objectives.
• Sound knowledge of digital transformation trends and industry best practices.
• Excellent level of knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud computing, networking, and cybersecurity.
• Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to effectively drive business, culture and technology change in a dynamic environment.
• Sound business and financial acumen with the ability to formulate and allocate budgets.
• Working knowledge of cloud computing, business intelligence, Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  
  

Education And Experience

• Batchelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 7 years of professional experience in IT systems management at a senior level, with at least 5 years experience working in a Head of IT position.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Demonstrated negotiation and complex problem-solving skills.
• Ability to think about the future direction and strategy whilst implementing quick wins and delivering business value in a cost effective and agile manner.
• Ability to lead change management and handle changing priorities.
• Good knowledge of ITIL Service Management, Agile and Waterfall project management.
• In depth knowledge and experience of cybersecurity, risk, and operations management.
