Job Opportunity: Redistribution Driver - Santander Cycles (London Cycle Hire Scheme) Location: London Employer: Serco - on behalf of Transport for London (TfL) Job Type: Full-Time, Shift-Based (Including Weekends and Nights) Salary: Competitive + Benefits
Join the team behind one of London's most iconic and sustainable transport services - Santander Cycles. We're looking for reliable, safety-conscious, and motivated Redistribution Drivers to support the effective operation of the London Cycle Hire Scheme.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Driving scheme vehicles across London to redistribute Santander bikes, ensuring availability at key docking stations.
- Responding rapidly to real-time information from our Control Centre using Maximo/Cognito
- Collecting bicycles for service and repair and returning them to depots efficiently.
- Performing daily safety checks on vehicles and trailers before shifts begin.
- Maintaining accurate, legible and timely paperwork and operational records.
- Providing courteous and informed assistance to the public, clients, and sponsors, escalating any issues appropriately.
- Ensuring full compliance with Serco and TfL policies, especially those concerning Health & Safety, Security, Environmental Standards, and operational protocols.
- Representing the Cycle Hire Scheme with professionalism and exemplary behaviour at all times.
What We're Looking For:
- A full, clean UK driving licence (essential).
- Good knowledge of London's road network.
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions under pressure.
- Comfortable using mobile tech/systems for job updates.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-friendly attitude.
- A technical understanding to allow minor repairs to be made to bikes on site.
- Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Commitment to Health & Safety and reducing crime, fraud, and vandalism on the scheme.
