About The Role

Opus Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a specialist consultancy to deliver a high-impact digital project for a major brand. We are seeking a Senior Node.js Developer for an initial 6-month contract, ideally on a hybrid basis in London, though remote applicants based in the UK will also be considered.

In this role, you will take ownership of building scalable, high-performance RESTful APIs using NestJS and Node.js. This is a hands-on position, but you will also provide technical leadership and mentorship to other developers.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using NestJS and Node.js
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in TypeScript
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement software requirements
  • Lead and support other developers, promoting best practices and clean architecture
  • Ensure high code quality through unit testing, integration testing, and documentation
  • Contribute to technical decision-making and architectural planning

Required Skills

  • Strong Node.js back-end development experience
  • Expertise in NestJS and TypeScript
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design and architecture
  • Experience leading or mentoring development teams
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, client-facing environment

Additional Information

  • Contract is outside IR35
  • Immediate start preferred, but we are willing to wait up to 2 weeks for the right candidate
  • Candidates must be UK-based
