About the Role:

We're looking for a Junior Product Engineer to join our tight-knit product engineering team and help us scale Kato into a global platform. You’ll build real features that deliver real value from dashboard insights to internal tooling, from AI-powered workflows to backend integrations.

This isn’t a role where you’ll sit in a corner coding tickets. You'll be in the room, ideating alongside our Product Manager and Designer, and building end-to-end features that impact thousands of users. You’ll learn fast, take ownership, and contribute to a product that’s genuinely changing the way deals get done.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Build, Ship, Repeat: Develop end-to-end product features using React, TypeScript, and PHP (Laravel). Deliver well-tested, maintainable, and scalable code.
• Think Like a Product Owner: Go beyond the code and understand the "why" behind the features and help shape them.
• Learn & Apply AI: Work on intelligent workflows, automation, and applied AI and even if it’s your first time, you’ll be supported to grow in this area.
• Move Fast, Learn Fast: Work closely with senior engineers and get rapid feedback. Learn modern practices, tooling, and architecture patterns.
• Own Small Projects: Take responsibility for features or internal tools and you’ll have the space to lead and the support to succeed.

• You’re shipping real value quickly - new features are being released into the hands of users, and you're confident in contributing across the stack.
• You own small projects end-to-end - scoping, building, testing, and iterating on meaningful product functionality with support from senior engineers.
• You’re learning fast - gaining confidence in areas like API design, databases, AI integration, and modern dev workflows.
• You’re making things better - proposing ideas, improving the user experience, and helping us refine how we build.
• You feel part of the mission - understanding how your work connects to the company’s goals, and feeling excited to contribute to the future of the platform.
• The team sees you as reliable and impactful - you communicate clearly, meet your commitments, and actively raise the bar for quality.

What We’re Looking For:

• 1+ years of experience in a frontend, backend or fullstack role
• Hands-on with either React/TypeScript or PHP/Laravel - ideally at least two of the languages/frameworks but not essential if you’ve been more focused on only one of the languages.
• Curious about product design, user experience, and how software solves real-world problems
• Interest in the future of AI and automation in product development
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and proactive in asking questions or offering ideas
• You’re not just a coder - you care about what you’re building and why it matters

Bonus Points For:

• Familiarity with modern web APIs, MySQL/PostgreSQL, CI/CD workflows
• Passion or experience within startups or scaleups especially in SaaS, PropTech, B2B tools
• Exposure to agile teams, GitHub, testing frameworks, or performance monitoring
• A side project or two that shows your passion for building things
