Join our fast-moving stealth startup as an Embedded Hardware Engineer working on next-generation wearable technologies. You’ll take ownership of the electronics stack for our core platform and play a key role in bringing complex embedded systems from prototype to production.
Your profile
Key Responsibilities
- Design and bring up embedded PCBs for electromechanical control systems (e.g. pumps, solenoids, pressure sensors).
- Develop and validate power systems, including battery integration, charging, PMICs, and power regulation.
- Drive component selection with attention to lifecycle status, sourcing risk, and BOM stability.
- Collaborate with mechanical and firmware teams on layout, signal integrity, and system interfaces.
- Interface with contract manufacturers to ensure DFM/DFA, support builds, and troubleshoot bring-up issues.
- Support low-level firmware interfaces (GPIO, I²C, SPI) for device control and sensor feedback.
- Conduct feasibility studies and support transition from R&D prototypes to manufacturable hardware.
- 5+ years in embedded hardware design, with at least 1–2 shipped commercial products.
- Strong experience with PCB layout and assembly for compact, mixed-signal systems.
- Deep understanding of battery-powered hardware: LiPo, PMICs, current sensing.
- Familiarity with Nordic (nRF) and Espressif (ESP32) platforms.
- Experience with electromechanical control: pumps, motors, solenoids, pressure sensors.
- Confident using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, current probes, and test equipment.
- Ability to debug and validate circuits across hardware and firmware boundaries.
- PCB design using Altium or KiCAD
- Microcontroller development: ARM Cortex, ESP32, PIC or similar
- Low-power system architecture and embedded power management
- BLE and wireless communications (Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi-Fi, etc.)
- Basic signal/data processing using MATLAB, Python, or similar
- Exposure to wearable, medical, or biometric devices
- Experience with rapid prototyping, flexible PCBs, and short-cycle iteration
- Familiarity with component lifecycle management and production transition workflows
- Familiarity with certification considerations such as battery safety (UN 38.3, IEC 62133), wireless approvals (CE/FCC), or basic medical device standards (e.g. ISO 13485) is a plus.
- Clear communicator with strong documentation and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable operating autonomously
- Proven ability to manage multiple hardware subsystems and iterate under tight timelines
- Work at the core of a high-impact wearable product with real-world applications
- Help define the hardware stack of a stealth-stage company as an early team member
