About Us:

Luo is a fast-growing fintech startup building real-time cross-border payment infrastructure for West Africa. Our platform helps businesses make international payments faster and more affordably. We recently raised $4 million in seed funding from top-tier investors, including the co-founder of Monzo and leading experts in cross-border payments.

We’re now looking for a Founding Product Manager to take ownership of our product development and help scale our core infrastructure and customer experience.

Role Overview:

As the Founding Product Manager at Luo, you’ll be responsible for driving the product roadmap, and execution from the ground up. This role goes far beyond organizing delivery cycles — we’re looking for someone who will create value at every step of the process: identifying user needs, turning insights into structured solutions, and delivering highly actionable, developer-ready specifications.

You’ll work directly with the founders, engineering, ops, and compliance teams to design and build products that solve real pain points for African businesses sending international payments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define product strategy and roadmap in collaboration with the founders.
  • Drive customer and market research to uncover core problems and opportunities.
  • Translate customer and internal needs into clear, structured product specs.
  • Collaborate with engineering to ensure smooth delivery and fast iteration.
  • Own and manage the product backlog, priorities, and timelines.
  • Set and track product KPIs; iterate based on data and user feedback.
  • Partner closely with operations, compliance, and sales to align product with business goals.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in product management in a fast-paced startup or fintech environment.
  • Must-have: strong background in payments, fintech, or financial infrastructure.
  • Clear thinker with the ability to turn complex processes into clean product flows.
  • Not just a project manager — you know how to create value through thoughtful product design and execution.
  • Highly autonomous, hands-on, and comfortable in early-stage ambiguity.
  • Strong communicator who can bridge technical and non-technical teams.
  • Passionate about solving real problems for underserved markets.

Why This Role is Exciting:

  • You’ll shape the future of cross-border payments for African businesses.
  • You’ll work directly with a highly driven founding team and influence company strategy.
  • You’ll have full ownership over the product stack from day one.
  • You’ll help build something meaningful and technically challenging, with real economic impact.
