About The Role

The UK Chief Product Officer (CPO) plays a pivotal role in defining and executing the product strategy for our UK market, as well as being responsible for the strategic growth of the Alliances function, fostering partnerships and collaborations to enhance our offerings and market position. As a key member of the leadership team, the CPO will oversee the entire product lifecycle, drive innovation, and ensure alignment with company objectives. The CPO will also work closely with our group Cyber Security function, ensuring the needs of the UK market are represented and that our Cyber Security capabilities are incorporated into a cohesive product portfolio.

Responsibilities

Product Strategy and Vision

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy that aligns with the company’s vision, market trends, and customer needs.
  • Review and implement a high-performance product management function, including embedding product lifecycle management frameworks and working towards being a product-led business.
  • Lead the product management team in prioritising, planning, and delivering product roadmaps with clear goals and measurable outcomes.
  • Drive innovation and differentiation in the Ekco product portfolio, optimising scalability, profitability, and client satisfaction.

Product Development and Management

  • Own the entire product lifecycle from concept, design, development, and go-to-market to continuous iteration and improvement.
  • Collaborate with the sales and operations teams to ensure that product development is aligned with customer requirements, budgets, and timelines.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer needs through regular robust customer feedback loops, research, and analysis, translating these insights into actionable product improvements or new features.
  • Manage product pricing, positioning, and packaging to ensure offerings are competitive and deliver clear value to our customers.
  • Ensure seamless integration of new technologies, platforms, and services to continuously enhance product offerings.

Go-to-Market & Sales Enablement

  • Work closely with marketing and sales teams to ensure successful product launches, clear messaging, and effective customer communication.
  • Provide strategic direction for go-to-market plans, ensuring product positioning reflects the unique challenges and opportunities faced by Ecko’s target markets.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop product training and support, ensuring that they are equipped with the knowledge and tools to sell effectively.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success, including customer adoption, retention, and overall satisfaction.

Alliances and Partnerships

  • Develop and lead the alliances team in establishing and managing strategic partnerships with technology vendors.
  • Negotiate and maintain agreements that enhance product capabilities and drive mutual benefits with our alliance partners.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts to maximise partner engagement and leverage alliance resources for product development and market growth.

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the executive team and wider-group functions to align product and alliance strategies with broader business objectives.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to the product and alliances teams, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and excellence.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration between sales, marketing, operations, and technical teams for effective product launches and alliance management.  

Requirements

  • Proven track record in establishing and leading a product management function at a senior level (Director / VP / Chief Product Officer), within an MSP or technology-focused organisation.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams, including product management, commercial, product marketing and strategic alliances in the technology sector.
  • Strong understanding of the mid-market and enterprise MSP landscape, including customer needs, competitors, and emerging technologies.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and measurable results.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology or a related field desirable.
