FLIGHTSTORY
FlightStory is a media company on a mission to elevate stories, build communities, and support the founders who inspire a happier, healthier humanity.

Role Description

Support the creation of high-performance trailers that scale IP, deepen fandom, and spark global attention through world-class storytelling, platform-native editing, and AI-assisted workflows.

As an Assistant Trailer Editor at FlightStory, you’ll help shape compelling trailers by preparing footage, organising assets, and assisting senior editors throughout the post-production process. You’ll learn by doing, supporting edits that are built to perform and creatively contributing to content that moves audiences.

Responsibilities

Assist in crafting high-performance trailers by organising footage, syncing multicam interviews, prepping timelines, pulling selects, sourcing music, and referencing visual inspiration. Support edits optimised for YouTube, TikTok, Reels, and other short-form formats.

Learn and apply data-informed storytelling by collaborating with editors and strategists to understand how performance metrics shape narrative choices. Help implement feedback and build awareness of retention tactics, pacing, and platform-specific techniques.

Support AI-enhanced editing workflows using tools like Runway, Descript, Firefly, and in-house AI. Contribute to workflow experimentation, speed improvements, and creative problem-solving.

Collaborate across teams with a positive and proactive mindset. Join brainstorms, edit huddles, and reviews. Keep project files and templates organised, and support fast-paced creative output. Contribute to team morale and continuous learning.

Competencies

Editing fundamentals with comfort in Adobe Premiere Pro and familiarity with After Effects, Audition, and Photoshop. You understand basic multicam workflows, audio syncing, and output formats for different platforms.

Creative curiosity with a hunger to learn storytelling principles, editing techniques, and performance trends. You’re open to feedback and motivated to grow both creatively and technically.

Workflow discipline with a reliable approach to organising project files, naming conventions, and timelines. You communicate clearly and can stay focused under pressure.

Team collaboration with a strong desire to support others, take initiative, and contribute to a high-performing creative team.

What Success Looks Like

You reliably support senior editors with asset prep, organisation, and rough assemblies. You help deliver trailers that contribute to strong watch-through and shareability. You become a go-to team member for support, feedback, and creative collaboration. You demonstrate growth in storytelling instincts, tool fluency, and creative confidence.

You’ll Thrive Here If You

Are hungry to learn and grow your editing craft.
