Your Role

The Finance Assistant supports the Finance team, in ensuring that purchase, sales, and bank transactions are captured accurately and information flows through the company on a timely basis to help facilitate decision making and ensuring we meet internal and external reporting requirements.

Your Day To Day Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

  • Using our automated software, receive and process purchase invoices from suppliers, internal expense claims and purchase orders ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained in accordance with our internal authorisation matrix.
  • Deal with internal and external queries regarding invoices and payments.
  • Work with the rest of the finance team to ensure invoices are posted to correct ledger codes.

Accounts Receivable

  • Perform monthly revenue completeness check as part of the month-end procedures.
  • Support the membership team and others in the finance team on credit control - chasing debtors, issues with payment methods and reconciling balances between Nexudus and Netsuite.

Bank

  • Import bank transactions via our payment providers (GoCardless, Stripe), credit cards (Amex and Soldo) and bank statements (Natwest) and prepare and process weekly bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare supplier and property payment runs for review and approvals, ensuring that payments are made on time and liaising with other teams to approve invoices in a timely manner.
  • Manage the central Finance and credit control inbox, ensuring queries are followed up in a timely manner either directly or by others in the team.
  • Support the Group Finance Manager in month-end tasks for the group companies, processing intercompany recharges and other ad hoc tasks as required.

Business Partnering

  • Take ownership to ensure correct accounting treatment and commercial points are made for some of the smaller companies within the group.

Process Improvements

  • Identifying and suggesting genuine improvements to how we process items as we continually grow and develop how we work.
