Senior Business Development Manager

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join the Commercial team and support the distribution of the Lenders specialist mortgage products.

This is a full-time remote position responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building and maintaining intermediary relationships, developing strategic plans, and managing sales processes.


Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the National Sales Director to develop and implement strategies that grow the businesses market share within the specialist lending sector.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, packagers, mortgage clubs, and distribution partners.
  • Provide guidance and support to brokers and packagers to optimise performance and customer outcomes.
  • Maintain broker engagement plans for all key and volume relationships, including performance against agreed targets.
  • Represent the business at industry events, associations, and community engagements to enhance brand visibility and credibility.
  • Work collaboratively with the Underwriting team to provide feedback and contribute to the credit risk appetite process.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop innovative approaches to meet market and customer needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date partner records within the CRM system.
  • Support the growth and success of the Commercial department by working collaboratively across the business.
  • Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Key Knowledge and Skills

  • 3 years BDM experience
  • Experience across both regulated and non-regulated lending environments.
  • Strong understanding of specialist lending products, lender criteria, affordability assessments, and market competition.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Strong IT proficiency
