Marketing Data Engineer - Contract
London - 2 days a week
This freelance assignment stands out due to the immediate impact you will have on live marketing data platforms during a critical delivery period. You will focus primarily on data engineering, owning pipelines and transformations that directly power dashboards used by media and analytics teams across the business.

The Role and Deliverables
- Take ownership of existing data pipelines and engineering projects within a marketing analytics environment.
- Maintain and enhance GCP-based infrastructure, primarily using BigQuery for data modelling and transformation.
- Manage and optimise ETL processes using tools such as Fivetran, alongside dbt or Dataform.
- Support the dashboards layer by ensuring data accuracy, performance and scalability, making targeted updates where required.
- Work through a ticketing system, collaborating closely with project managers, analytics engineers and media teams to deliver changes.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve pipeline efficiency, data quality and dashboard reliability.
Your Skills & Experience
- Strong experience designing, building and maintaining data pipelines on GCP, with deep BigQuery expertise.
- Advanced capability in SQL and Python for data transformation and optimisation.
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Fivetran in a production environment.
- Proven ability to support dashboarding and reporting by delivering clean, well-modelled data for tools like Google Data Studio.
- Experience working with marketing or digital analytics data, such as paid media, marketplaces or web analytics.
- Proactive and structured in your approach, able to quickly understand existing infrastructure and take ownership of delivery.
