Audio Visual System Design Engineer - #2085380

Working as part of a highly skilled design team, you will provide technical design and engineering support throughout the pre-sales and project coordination lifecycle. This role offers the chance to work on large-scale consultancy projects, tender submissions and design-and-build installations involving cutting-edge Audio, Video, Lighting and Media (AVLM) technologies.

• Produce detailed technical drawings, schematics and system documentation.
• Support Solution Architects with system design, equipment specification and technical proposals.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive drawing packs using 2D CAD software.
• Create and interpret 3D visualisation and design workflows using tools such as SketchUp, Capture, ArrayCalc and similar platforms.
• Coordinate closely with clients, consultants and project stakeholders throughout project delivery.
• Design and document complete AVLM systems and integrated technology solutions.
• Assist with Bill of Materials (BOM) creation, equipment selection and pricing exercises.
• Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to obtain technical information and quotations.
• Complete system calculations relating to equipment performance, requirements and limitations.
• Support projects through pre-sales, engineering, delivery and post-installation phases.
• Attend project sites when required to monitor progress and update technical information.

• Strong understanding of current AVLM technologies, workflows and integration practices.
• Experience in system design, equipment specification and installation coordination.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of AV over IP, LED technologies and IT networking.
• Strong understanding of AV signal types and system architectures.
• Previous experience producing technical specifications and engineering documentation.
• Commercial awareness with an understanding of budgets and project costs.

• Previous experience within an Audio Visual, Broadcast or Technical Integration environment.
• Proven experience in one or more of the following disciplines:
  • Audio Systems
  • Video Systems
  • Lighting Systems
  • Networking
  • Broadcast Technology
• Experience working with both internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful projects.
• Experience with Revit and BIM would be advantageous but is not essential.
