Interim Management Accountant (Children’s) - Local Authority - #2085383

I am supporting a London Borough to recruit an experienced Interim Management Accountant to support the transformation with a focus on Children’s Services. This is a key role within the finance team, providing financial support, analysis and effective business partnering during a a period of change in the team

Key responsibilities:

• Lead on budget monitoring, forecasting, and reporting for Children’s Services
• Provide clear and accurate financial analysis to support decision-making
• Deliver robust cost management and savings tracking
• Support the preparation of budgets and medium-term financial planning
• Communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders

Role requirements:

• Qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent) or demonstrably qualified by experience
• Strong background in management accounting within a local authority setting
• Proven experience supporting Children’s Services
• Excellent technical accounting knowledge and analytical capability
• Track record of effective budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
• Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
