Role Summary:
An opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Commercial Broker to join a growing specialist team advising healthcare, life sciences and medical technology businesses. The role combines new business conversion with ongoing client management, supporting organisations ranging from digital health providers and telemedicine platforms through to clinical research organisations, pharmaceutical businesses and medical device manufacturers.
Working alongside dedicated Lead and Partnerships teams, you'll inherit qualified opportunities and focus on winning, advising and retaining clients throughout their lifecycle as well as servicing existing client relationships. You'll become a trusted advisor to ambitious businesses that are often expanding rapidly, launching new products, entering overseas markets and navigating complex risk environments.
This role would suit an experienced commercial insurance professional from either a broker, account executive or account handling background who enjoys client interaction, market-facing responsibilities and taking ownership of client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Convert qualified opportunities, allowing you to focus on delivering solutions rather than prospecting
- Manage a portfolio of high-growth MedTech, healthcare and life sciences clients through their full insurance lifecycle
- Conduct regular client reviews, helping businesses adapt insurance programmes as they expand into new products, services and territories
- Develop and maintain strong insurer relationships to secure competitive and appropriate cover for complex risks
- Advise clients across a broad range of MedTech and healthcare exposures, including digital health, telemedicine, medical malpractice, clinical trials and life sciences risks
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver a high-touch service model centred around proactive client engagement
Requirements:
- Experience within commercial insurance broking, client management, account executive or account handling roles
- Comfortable managing insurer relationships and handling market-facing broking responsibilities
- Strong commercial insurance knowledge and the ability to explain technical concepts to clients
- Experience managing client relationships and delivering high levels of service
- Ambitious, proactive and motivated by working in a fast-paced growth environment
- Exposure to healthcare, life sciences, technology, professional risks or specialist commercial sectors would be advantageous but is not essential
