As a Policy Lead, you will take ownership of a critical pension policy portfolio, developing evidence-based positions to drive better retirement outcomes for savers across the UK. Working closely with industry committees and senior government officials, you will act as an authoritative spokesperson and strategic advocate to influence the ongoing national pension debate.

Description
- Develop and implement influential public policy positions, producing high-quality policy papers, consultation responses, and research reports.
- Act as an authoritative spokesperson for the organisation at industry events, stakeholder meetings, and in the media.
- Provide strategic advice and high-quality support to policy governance committees, working groups, and executive leadership.
- Build and maintain robust networks with UK government officials, regulators, parliamentarians, and member organisations to maximize lobbying impact.
- Deliver practical support, guidance, and event content insight to the association's diverse membership base.
Profile
- Sector Expertise: Proven knowledge and understanding of pensions policy, pension scheme operations, or a closely related financial services sector.
- Policy Experience: Demonstrated track record of undertaking policy, advocacy, or political work within a stakeholder body, government department, financial firm, or membership organisation.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with proven experience in public speaking and the ability to draft persuasive, evidence-based documents.
- Stakeholder Credibility: Naturally credible with the ability to quickly build trust, manage complex internal and external relationships, and collaborate effectively across functions.
- Media & Lobbying Savvy (Desirable): Prior exposure to media engagement (print/broadcast) and experience applying pensions knowledge to a public policy or government lobbying setting.
Job Offer
- Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
- Pension: Generous non-contributory options, including a 15% employer / 5% employee split or a 10% employer / 0% employee split.
